The pub
The Chevin Inn sits on West Chevin Road in Menston - a stone-built country pub with the kind of character you hope for when you leave the town behind. Beamed rooms, a proper bar, and space to eat well or simply enjoy a pint.
Converted from a farmhouse in the eighteenth century, it has long been a stop for people who know the Chevin: locals from Menston and Guiseley, walkers from the Ebor Way, and visitors heading through Wharfedale.
Local character
This is not a chain template. It is an independent Yorkshire house - warm, rustic and welcoming without trying too hard. Come as you are: boots, jumpers, Sunday best or muddy paws.
Outdoor seating makes the most of fair weather, and the views across open countryside are part of why people linger.
The beer garden
Picnic tables on the grass, a dry-stone wall, and the Wharfe valley rolling away beneath you. On a clear day the view is half the reason to stay for another round.
The surrounding area
Menston sits between Ilkley, Otley and Guiseley, with easy access to the A65 and the hills above. The Chevin Inn is perched near Otley Chevin Country Park, with panoramic views over the Wharfe valley.

Otley Chevin is woodland, ridge and sky - a favourite for weekend walks and weekday escapes. The Inn is a natural place to start or finish a stretch of countryside, without claiming any particular route begins at our door.
Menston
Menston is a village with its own rhythm - rail links, local life and the hills close at hand. Whether you live nearby or you are passing through Wharfedale, you are welcome at the bar.

Muddy boots are part of the furniture. Call in after a ridge walk, a cycle through Wharfedale, or a drive out from Leeds and Bradford. Food at the bar, a cold drink and a seat by the window - that is the idea.
